Gear notes:
- rain not expected, planned for, or allowed.
- extra stove fuel carried in case I needed to melt snow to make water.
- I was very comfortable at 33 degrees F.
- single trekking pole for hiking and climbing the snow, 3-section collapsible type for packing/running, no tip basket.
- snow gaiters were unnecessary, only encountered slush over very compacted base.

This map shows the last 10 miles, starting above Last Chance. The blue line is my main route. The yellow detour near the bottom left was my unintended alternate scenic off-trail descent, which included an intentional-offset one stream south to ensure I didn't go down into deep canyon.
